"In organizations, real power and energy is generated through relationships. The patterns of relationships and the capacity to form them are more important than tasks, functions, roles, and positions."

Change is in the air!
The energy and passion reflected in the presidential election, the current financial crisis, and the international recognition that the world has become much smaller has been underscored in the last few weeks. Confidence in our institutions from government to the financial infrastructure has been severely damaged if not shattered.
On the flip side, there has been seminal research demonstrating that those organizations that have embraced the development and implementation of a culture of engagement will emerge from the current environment stronger and better prepared.
The simple truth is that your relationship with your employees and their relationship with your customers may be the single biggest contributor to your business success or failure. The following information from multiple current sources reinforces that truth.
A 2003 study on customer behavior indicated that employees have a huge influence on their decision to repeat purchases with an organization-
Nemawashi in Japanese culture is an informal process of quietly laying the foundation for change. It is considered an important element in any major change, before any formal steps are taken. Successful Nemawashi leads to changes that maximize the emotional and intellectual potential of teams.
Employee engagement is the foundation, the Nemawashi of everything from attracting the right people to getting those people to feel personally benefited, committed, and motivated through their contribution. The three day Nemawashi event will expose you to three management models that build a solid foundation of trust and excellence and lead to sustainable long term engagement results.
engaged organizations enjoy-
According to an international workforce study released in February of 2006 by Towers Perrin only as little as 21% of employees are fully engaged, willing to contribute of themselves emotionally, intellectually and motivationally. The other 79% know what to do and will get what they’ve been assigned done, but they are not willing to go the “extra mile”.
Best Buy was able to demonstrate that a 0.1 increase in employee engagement on a five point scale resulted in a $100,000 annual profit increase (S.Flander, Terms of Engagement, January 2008).
“You have to treat your employees like customers. When you treat them right they will treat your outside customers right. That has been a powerful competitive weapon for us.”

The Nemawashi conference is intended to provide attendees with three distinctive yet related models to “build their foundation” through more effective interpersonal relationships.
Each of the three models-

During this conference you will have an opportunity to experience and discuss three different models intended to improve the effectiveness of your organizational and interpersonal communications styles and practices. Enrollment in the conference is limited to 20 attendees! We want this to be a personalized learning experience for each participant.
Just as the name of our conference implies- we are about foundations and the foundation we are looking to build here is trust. We feel that this is an opportunity not only from our faculty, but from both new and existing colleagues about how you would apply these models back in the “real” world. You will also have time for contemplation and conversation as you enjoy the surrounding resort and Sonoran desert. This conference is intended to be experiential- not one dimensional!
Share with your colleagues!
The Nemawashi event is by invitation or recommendation. We feel that all of the participants and the faculty will get the most out of the experience in a small intimate group and associating with colleagues who share interests in creating truly engaged cultures and exploring new ideas. If you know a colleague or co-worker who you believe might benefit from this experience please let us know so that we can extend them an invitation.
Who will benefit?
This conference provides leaders who are prepared to take the critical steps of building their foundation through an interactive, experiential discussion of these models and their application to properly build and sustain engaged organizations.
Each of our facilitator leaders has substantial experience “field testing” their models in multiple settings.
Because of the highly interactive nature of this workshop, attendance will be limited to a maximum of 25 participants who are operating at the most senior levels of leadership in their organization and who have the courage and passion to explore a new approach!
If you are prepared to explore a new “foundation” for your organization, then join us in historic Tubac Arizona, one the oldest European settlements in North America, to participate in this event, for in the words of Robert Jarvik, inventor of the artificial heart-
"Leaders are visionaries with a poorly developed sense of fear and no concept of the odds against them."
